An emission Nebulae, often called the Nebulae of inferno due to it's colour and intensity. Clouds of high temperature gas, mainly helium and hydrogen and thus giving it the red colour. The clouds of gas gains energy from a star's ultraviolete emission ( in this case a proton star) and emit radiation as the gas go back to lower states of energy.

Looks great.
I think the planets are a bit too big, and that if you make them smaller it will make the nebula seem alot bigger, and will be more scientifically accurate ;) =P
And I think the planet right by the middle star looks out of place.
Otherwise its good :) Its good to see that you didnt just paint some red and orange in the middle of a black canvas, but rather have filled it all with colour :D

I used photoshop 7 only. You are right, I've followed a tutorial, but not that strict. Had no idea where to start so the tutorial helped me a lot.
Got PS just a few months ago so I'm still learning.

You use components of some nebulae tutorials around, but inda completly different composition!
